Karis has been our incredible intern since June of 2023. She has had her hand in multiple projects, including Oaks AL, Grange Castle, Athens Flats, and Trilith Studios, among others. We unfortunately have to say goodbye (for now) to Karis as she returns to finish her 5-year architecture program at University of Kansas; she will be graduating in May! Before leaving, Karis gave the office a presentation on the research she has been doing behind the scenes for school that reflects her interests in creating a better experience in pediatric facilities. Her ongoing research has focused on the benefits of thoughtful design that implement accessibility features, wayfinding strategies, and vegetation in pediatric facilities. Her presentation led to an engaging Q&A session after that sparked everyone's creativity.
